Every morning at Goddess Retreats we have a new nutritious smoothie on the menu for everyone to try. It is a great way to start the day and provides a light detox. We always make them from the freshest in season produce (so the menu changes through the year,) but with smoothies being made of endless combinations of fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices and superfoods we are not complaining. That being said, no matter what time of year it is these are our favourite mixes for every occasion.
Note: All of these delicious beverages are raw vegan and we recommend using organic ingredients to get the most nourishment out of each drink. Want to know more about the food we serve at our Fitness Retreats? Click here.

We love this smoothie combination as the Ginger and Turmeric are great for joint movement and help fight inflammation. Ginger has a long history of reducing nausea, helping fight the flu and and help digestion thanks to Gingerol – the main bioactive compound. When you pair Ginger with Turmeric (and Curcumin – the main active ingredient) you get a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory combo!
You may think that the pepper would be horrible in a smoothie, but at a small pinch you can’t taste it, and if you’re putting in the Turmeric then it is a must! The Pepper and fat from the Almond Milk help the body absorb the Turmeric’s numerous health benefits.
The apricots are in this smoothie because they are full of vitamin A and large amounts of healthy fiber. The carrots bring vitamin K and potassium to the mix, which we know are great of eye health. These two together help ward off infections and give your immunity a boost! The Orange and Banana are your beauty recovery foods, they protect the skin from free radical damage (known to cause signs of aging), they control your blood sugar levels and heal and protect the liver from fatty deposits being stored! This Vegan Smoothie is perfect for when you are not feeling 100% or at the change of seasons when you need an extra health kick.

This delicious jump start/pick-me-up smoothie is full of vitamins and nutrients. Infact Spirulina has been called one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. Just 7 grams of Spirulina contains: Vitamins B1, B2, B3, copper, iron, magnesium, potassium, manganese, omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids! Plus high amounts of quality protein comparable to that found in eggs. This algae also detoxifies the heavy metal arsenic from the body.
Kale, spinach and watercress contain high amounts of Chlorophyll which help rid the body of harmful environmental toxins, from toxic metals, herbicides, cleaning products, and pesticides. (Especially important if you’re not buying organic food.) They also aid the liver in detoxification.
The apples and strawberries contain beneficial Polyphenols that are are stated to help increase immune responses, detoxify cancer-causing agents, repair cell damage and kill cancer cells. Make sure you leave the apple skin on as this is where the largest build up of nutrients is. Use this smoothie as a diet starter and/or as a quick detox when you need it.

Great as a Keto meal replacement and quick hydration after a workout!
We love almonds for their high amounts of vitamin E, copper, magnesium, and high-quality protein which are all great for a fast energy boost, but the key to this smoothies power is the Coconut oil!
Coconut oil is high in healthy saturated fats, these fats boost fat burning and provide your body and brain with quick energy, this is thanks to the medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) which increase how many calories you burn compared to the same amount of calories from longer chain fats. Making this smoothie perfect after a workout.
If not on a Keto diet, don’t omit the dates! The massive health benefits of dates have made them one of the best ingredients for muscle development. The natural sugars like glucose, fructose and sucrose make them perfect snack for an immediate burst of energy when you need it. As a bonus because of their high nutritional value, when the body begins to absorb the dates, feelings of hunger are pacified which makes this smoothie super filling and with the added shot of coffee you won’t be hungry again till the afternoon!
